Author: MnDOT traffic cameras A group of street racers shut down the Lowry Hill Tunnel in Minneapolis early Sunday morning as they did doughnuts on Interstate 94.  State Troopers responded to reports of vehicles racing in the tunnel shortly after 1:30 a.m., Lt. Gordon Shank of the Minnesota State Patrol said. Minnesota Department of Transportation video from inside the tunnels showed several vehicles lining up to block traffic with some people out of their vehicles, causing a long line to form outside of the tunnel on I-94.

Police said employees of a McDonald s restaurant reported they were assaulted by a customer, who allegedly sprayed a chemical irritant at them. Authorities were able to locate the suspect s vehicle, which led them to an arrest. The suspect has been jailed on assault charges, according to Burnsville police. Police identified the suspect as Lazell Cook. He is currently being held at Dakota County Jail.
