BIRMINGHAM Last week, the Birmingham Shopping District board of directors appointed a new executive director for the organization who has plenty of downtown commerce experience.
Sean Kammer was unanimously appointed to the position after a nationwide search was conducted for an executive director. The position became vacant earlier this year when Ingrid Tighe resigned to take a similar role with Oakland County’s Economic Development Department.

BIRMINGHAM A lot of Birmingham’s spring traditions have been canceled for a second year amid the continuing COVID-19 pandemic.
But one of them, the Birmingham Farmers Market, will be back this weekend with a little taste of normalcy for shoppers.
The market will be back in Public Parking Lot 6 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Sundays beginning May 2. New vendors and old favorites will be back to sell locally grown produce, meat and dairy products, artisan baked goods, fresh foods, and more.
Last year, the market opened in a drive-thru format. Guests visited booths in their vehicles and purchased pre-packaged bunches of goods.

BIRMINGHAM For the second time during this pandemic, restaurants across Michigan welcomed diners again last week after a months-long indoor dining ban.
The reopening, though, comes with even stricter caveats than last time in order to limit the spread of COVID-19. Eateries are restricted to only 25% of their seating occupancy, and they need to close their doors by 10 p.m.
