Three Competition Venues Announced for The World Games 2022 02/03/21
The Birmingham Organising Committee yesterday announced three new competitions venues for The World Games 2022. With that they are showcasing the city’s history and its commitment to excellence front and centre: Legion Field, Birmingham CrossPlex and Boutwell Auditorium, in addition to the previously announced Protective Stadium, are four of the 25 official venues hosting an array of sports when The World Games 2022 commences in July of next year.
“We’re excited to officially begin announcing our venues,” The World Games 2022 CEO Nick Sellers said. “These are four of the best places to enjoy sports in our community. And by July of 2022, we will finally be able to fill all the seats in these beautiful venues again as we serve host to the first major international sporting event coming out of this pandemic. Each of these venues is a prime example of our city’s love of sport.”

JONESBORO, Ark. (1/31/21) – In the penultimate meet before the 2021 Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships, the Arkansas State track and field teams got a preview of what conference competition will be like in just under a month.
The reigning conference champions hosted five conference foes, in addition to Memphis, for the Scarlet and Black Invitational, where A-State’s athletes posted 19 personal-best marks as well as 28 season-best results. The Red Wolves notched nine victories (5 men, 4 women) and 38 top-five results.

A weekend of events tied to Monday’s national holiday celebrating civil rights leader Martin Luther King will mostly be virtual this year to avoid spreading coronavirus.
The Civil Rights Memorial Center in Montgomery, an interpretive center for the civil rights movement, held a virtual event commemorating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
