BIRMINGHAM The Birmingham police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a woman last seen in the Clay area.
BPD Officer Truman Fitzgerald said detectives are conducting a missing person investigation into the whereabouts of Crystal Lawson, 34, of Birmingham. Lawson is a Black female, 5 feet 2 inches tall weighing 115 pounds.
“Lawson was last seen on Thursday ,December 17, 2020 in the 8000 block of 1st Avenue South when she left the area in a family member’s vehicle,” Fitzgerald said. “The vehicle has since been located in the Clay, Alabama area.”

UPDATE: Birmingham police say Crystal Lawson has been located.
ORIGINAL: Birmingham Police are asking for help from the public to locate 34-year-old Crystal Lawson.
Lawson is a black female 5′2″ around 115 pounds.
She was last seen Thursday December 17, 2020 in the 8000 block of 1st Avenue South when she left the area in a family member’s vehicle. The vehicle has since been located in the Clay, Alabama area.
Anyone who has information about Lawson is asked to contact the Birmingham Police Department’s Special Victims Unit at 205-297-8485, dial 911 or contact Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
Crystal Lawson was last seen Dec. 17 in the 8000 block of First Avenue South. She left in a family member’s black Dodge Charger to go to Walmart and has not been seen or heard from since then.
BIRMINGHAM Authorities have issued a missing person alert for a 63-year-old Birmingham woman.
The Birmingham Police Department requests assistance from the public in locating Debra Branton, of Birmingham. She was last seen on Jan. 1, 2020 at 11:45 a.m. in the 7900 block of Crestwood Boulevard. At the time, she was wearing a green camouflage hat, black shirt, green camouflage pants, and pink shoes.
Police say Branton suffers from a medical condition that impairs her judgment. She is listed at 5-foot-2, 170 pounds.

HOOVER A Jefferson County judge granted bond to a man accused of assaulting women he met on dating apps.
The Birmingham Police Department arrested Johnathan Fitzgerald Lockett, 39, of Birmingham, after what they called an extensive investigation, which was conducted by the department’s special victim’s unit. Police say he also goes by the name “Master Lockett.”
On Friday, Nov. 20, BPD’s Crime Reduction Team arrested Lockett with the help of the Hoover Police Department. Detectives presented the case to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office for review. After an assessment, detectives obtained warrants for attempted rape, kidnapping, and sodomy.
