Below is a statement from the Burlington County Bridge Commission Police Department:
Burlington County Bridge Police Department were alerted that someone had left their vehicle mid-span and possibly went over the railing into the Delaware River. Officers Phillip Landell and Rodney Hubbs immediately responded and located the abandoned Hyundai vehicle. A search of the below waters revealed the woman who appeared unconscious and moving with the river’s tide. At that point, various departments with a boat were contacted to respond and assist.
The Croydon Fire Department responded to the scene with a boat and was able to locate the body. They transported her to the New Jersey side where members of the Tri-Boro First Aid Squad attempted to render medical aid however they were unsuccessful. The Burlington County Medical Examiners subsequently responded and pronounced the woman deceased at 11:25 a.m.

It happened around 6:50 p.m. Monday.
According to authorities, the crash occurred when two cars heading westbound towards Philadelphia appeared to be speeding. One car clipped the other sending it into the eastbound lane, where it struck a Honda Civic head-on.
Two other vehicles were also hit.
The driver of the Civic, Gerardo Francisco Perez Martinez, 35, of Camden, New Jersey, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Five others were taken to the hospital with various injuries, none of which appear to be life-threatening.
The bridge reopened to traffic around 2:40 a.m. Tuesday.
No arrest or charges have been announced
