NJ lawmaker: Murphy has blood on his hands for released killer

TRENTON A Republican state lawmaker who voted against an early release process for prisoners during the pandemic has said that the governor has “blood on his hands again,” after one of the inmates released in the fall was charged with murder. Sen. Michael Testa, R-Cumberland, has been a vocal critic of the early release law signed by Murphy in October after being passed by state legislators in close votes in both the Assembly and state Senate. Ronny L. Paden, now a Delran resident, was charged with two counts of murder for shooting two people at a party in Edgewater Park in January, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office.

Burlington Co Man Gets 7 Years for Having 1000 Child Porn Images

A man from Pemberton Township has been sentenced to seven years in state prison for possessing more than 1,000 images of child sexual abuse and making them available online for others to download. Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina says 57-year-old Guy Valachovic was sentenced on Friday. He had previously pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child. He was charged in August of that year and taken into custody following the execution of a search warrant at his home where multiple electronic devices were seized.

A Delran man faces charges in connection with a double homicide

EDGEWATER PARK Two men slain here in January were the unintended victims of a gunman at a birthday party, authorities say. The alleged gunman, 27-year-old Ronny Paden of Delran, did not target James Gist III, 29, of Westampton and Marcus Thompson, 29, of Willingboro, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor s Office. Paden, who s accused of shooting the men on Jan. 24, had been released early from prison in November 2020 under a policy meant to curb the spread of COVID-19 among inmates, the prosecutor s office said. Paden was arrested on May 7 as part of an ongoing investigation, the prosecutor s office said in a statement.
