Pets: Bulldog mix Sage, chonky cat Miss Kittens will keep you warm

This season, the phrase ‘winter wonderland’ seems to have taken on a new meaning - everyone is wondering just when winter is going to end! It’s times like this that you really appreciate the comforts of home. But if your home is feeling a little lacking in CQ - comfort quotient - now is a good time to up the coziness factor. Miss Kittens is just as soft and plush as your favorite grey hoodie - you know, the one you reach for a bit too often. Unlike your hoodie, though, you won’t need to worry about Miss Kittens fading in the wash (she’s self-cleaning!), she’s perfect for all seasons, and she looks great in photos.

Pets of the Week: Adopt a special cat or dog for extra love

All pets are special, but some are just extra-special - like Ramses and Simba. And that’s not just because they are extra cute, or extra sweet - which they both are!  Ramses was named after a great Egyptian pharaoh, and while that is a lot to live up to, this guy would certainly make his namesake proud. Ramses is a stunner with his charcoal-grey coat and piercing green eyes, and he poses like he’s waiting for his likeness to be carved into stone. But his regality ends at his looks, as Ramses is just a big sweetheart who adores his foster family and can’t get enough pets and cuddles.

Pets of the Week: Adopting playful Champ, cuddly Jasper, is a win

Everyone loves a champion! While the Eagles didn’t soar to playoff glory this season, Champ will make you feel like a winner every day of the year. Champ may not be the flashy pick - he’s not a puppy, and he isn’t a designer breed. But he is sweet, well-behaved and playful - and he packs a year of experience as a loving family pet in his repertoire.  Champ is a true team player - he loves people and lived harmoniously with children in his prior home. One-year-old Champ arrived at the shelter when his owner became ill and is ready to make his new family very happy. Champ is an active and energetic young guy who loves his daily walks and play sessions. He knows several commands and would love to continue his training in his new home. Champ is ready to be signed to a long-term deal with his new forever family. How does forever sound? If you’d like to be Champ’s champion, call the Burlington County Animal Shelter at 609-265-5073 and choose option four to speak to a staff memb

Pets of the Week: Adopt blind pup Tai, declawed tabby Abu for true love

There may be ‘12 Days of Christmas,’ but at the Burlington County Animal Shelter, the number 11 is deserving of its own holiday tune. While you won’t find a gaggle of pipers piping in the shelter, you will find two of the sweetest, cutest and most loving 11-year-olds hoping to go home for the holidays.  One the first day of Christmas, and every day thereafter, Tai promises to bring you true love, wrapped up in an adorable little package.  Tai is a little bit of everything - a bit Blue Heeler, a touch of Carolina dog, a smattering of shepherd, and a whole lot of love. Tai also happens to be blind and has limited hearing, but he doesn’t let either issue prevent him from living his best life.
