SAN DIEGO
San Diego police arrested two suspected graffiti taggers Sunday morning after they said they caught them in the act of spraying paint on a train car.
The men were arrested on suspicion of trespassing and vandalism around 8:45 a.m. when officers confronted them after observing them spraying paint on the train car for several minutes, Officer Dino Delimitrios said.
The men, both wearing Padres caps, were found with a Rustoleum spray paint can, a bucket and bottles of Modelo beer. A female companion was also at the scene, but was not arrested. The officers didn’t immediately arrest the men to avoid a potential situation where they would have to be chased, Delimitros said.

Topeka Bartlett Arboretum owner Robin Macy is moving closer to a peaceful solution to Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway’s track expansion at Belle Plaine that increased the frequency of train engines blasting horns near intersections at levels comparable to a Boeing 737 on approach for landing.
“This was a tranquil place. Concerts, weddings happened routinely. People came here from all points, many different states,” Macy said of the time before the BNSF track was expanded in the south-central Kansas community a decade ago. “We used to have about 20 trains a day, and now we can have a train through here every five minutes.”
