Gov.-elect Deidre Henderson announced a list of 19 Cabinet appointments on Monday, including several familiar faces from local elected offices from across the state of Utah. “After a thorough interview process, I’m convinced each of these candidates will serve the citizens of Utah exceptionally well,” Cox said in a news release. “Each has impeccable qualifications, brings fresh ideas and, most importantly, is devoted to public service. We’re lucky to have such brilliant minds willing to serve the public.”

Gov.-elect Deidre Henderson announced Monday 19 selections for roles in their new administration.  “After a thorough interview process, I’m convinced each of these candidates will serve the citizens of Utah exceptionally well,” Cox stated in a news release.  Each has impeccable qualifications, brings fresh ideas and, most importantly, is devoted to public service. We’re lucky to have such brilliant minds willing to serve the public. Unless otherwise noted, the appointees will require confirmation of the Utah Senate. All of the cabinet and staff appointees are from all parts of the state. They include: 

UAFS hires John William Blue for Diversity Equity Inclusion position

Times Record Staff John William Blue will become the first executive director of diversity, equity, and inclusion at the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith. Currently the director of Student Life and Multicultural Affairs at the University of Tennessee at Martin, Blue has a 15-year history in higher education including student affairs, multicultural affairs, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Blue will start in his new role on Jan. 19, serving as a member of senior administration, providing vision and counsel on diversity and inclusion initiatives and reporting directly to UAFS Chancellor Terisa Riley. He will also lead the university’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and subcommittees.

Mackay s multicultural events to celebrate 2021

Premium Content Subscriber only A record number of multicultural events are set to receive funding in 2021 after a disappointing year that cancelled most celebrations. Among the popular Mackay events to share in more than $1.5 million for next year is Global Grooves and Jayco Mackay Italian Street Party. The funding under the State Government’s Celebrating Multicultural Queensland Program is aimed at furthering inclusion, harmony and unity. Mackay MP Julieanne Gilbert said the community would be brought closer together through the events. “We are enriched by people with backgrounds from right across the globe, contributing to make this a wonderful place to live,” Mrs Gilbert said.
