Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday reached Quetta to meet bereaved families of the Machh victims as the Hazara community buried the slain coal miners.
The prime minister left for Quetta on a special flight from the Nur Khan airbase. Federal ministers including Interior Minister Shiekh Rashid are accompanying the premier.
Upon arriving in Quetta, the premier held a high-level meeting with the Balochistan authorities including Baochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal, Balochistan Governor Amanullah Khan Yasinzai.

The prime minister has said that most of the top sectarian terrorists have been eliminated and that only 35 to 40 of them are alive and trying to stir up communal trouble in the country at the behest of their foreign paymasters.
“I assure you that we will go after these elements. We will not allow them to sow sectarian strife in our country,” Imran Khan said while speaking to a delegation of the Hazara community, including relatives of the slain coalminers, at Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University in Quetta on Saturday.

In a late night development, grieving families agree to bury bodies of slain coalminers after government accepts their demands
Shia Hazara protesters called off their sit-in which had prompted nationwide protests in solidarity at Quetta’s Western Bypass late on Friday night and announced they would bury coalminers slain by Islamic State militants after government lawmakers assured them that all their demands had been accepted and Prime Minister Imran Khan would visit them on Saturday.
Announcing the end to the sit-in, representatives of the Shuhada Action Committee and Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen said federal cabinet members Ali Zaidi and Zulfi Bukhari, as well as Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan and National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri had assured them that Khan, as well as other senior officials, would visit them today. ISLAMABAD/QUETTA/LAHORE: Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a meeting of federal ministers and party leaders on Thursday in which Interior Minister Shaikh Rashid Ahmed gave a comprehensive briefing.
According to the sources, the meeting deliberated on the situation and recommended a proposal for payment of compensation to the families of victims.
It was decided that the affected families would be compensated according to the government rules and regulations.
The meeting could not decide on the prime minister’s visit to Quetta to meet with the bereaved families. The prime minister directed the interior minister to ensure that such incidents never occurred in future.
