UHS announces admission dates for MBBS, BDS

Admissions date for the 2020-2021 academic session of Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) disciplines has been announced by the University of Health Sciences in Lahore.
The online application starts at 9:00am on January 11 and closes at 4:00pm on January 22. The provisional merit list will be issued on February 5 and the final list will be released on February 8. First college-wise selection list will be issued on February 11, the second on February 24 and third on March 5.
The last date of fee submission is February 19 while classes will begin from March 1.
UHS Announces MBBS & BDS Admissions for Session 2020-2021
University of Health Sciences (UHS) has invited applications from eligible candidates for the admissions to First Year MBBS/BDS in public sector medical and dental colleges of Punjab for the academic session 2020-21.
The application process will be completely online and will start on 11 January 2021. The closing date for submitting online applications is 22 January 2021. MBBS and BDS classes will commence from 1 March 2021.

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has ruled out the possibility of conducting a local clinical trial on the proposed N400bn vaccines before administering them on Nigerians.
The agency said since the World Health Organisation had approved the vaccines there might not be need to conduct another clinical trial on the vaccines.
It, however, said it would subject vaccines, which the Federal Government may likely spend N400bn to procure, to proper revalidation before administering them on Nigerians.
Speaking at the weekend, NAFDAC’s Media Consultant, Sayo Akintola, stated that owing to the exigencies of COVID-19, there may be no reason to conduct a trial before administering the vaccines.

UHS, PMC discuss issues

Islamabad : The University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore had said that the Pakistan Medical Commission has assured it of full support and cooperation for the promotion of medical education in the province.
The assurance came as four-member delegation of the university led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Javed Akram called on PMC President Dr Arshad Taqi and Vice-President Barrister Ali Raza.
The two sides discussed matters of mutual interest.
The delegation also raised important issues regarding undergraduate and postgraduate medical education in Punjab, an official statement issued by the UHS said.
The PMC president and vice-president assured visitors of their full support to the university in relation to medical education.
