The former Michigan State assistant coach was named UTEP’s new offensive coordinator on Friday.
Warner spent 13 seasons at Michigan State under Mark Dantonio, including as co-offensive coordinator from 2013-18, before Dantonio retired in February. Warner didn’t coach in the 2020 season.
UTEP, a member of Conference USA, finished this season at 3-5 in Dana Dimel’s third season as head coach and offensive coordinator Mike Canales was fired. Warner previously coached with Dimel at Wyoming and Houston.
