MANATEE COUNTY, FL President Joe Biden on Friday signed a new batch of executive orders, one of which specifically aims to curb pandemic-induced hunger for millions of Americans in states including Florida.
In 2020, record-setting unemployment and sudden health care expenses due to the pandemic caused a dramatic spike in the number of hungry Americans. Feeding America, the largest hunger-relief organization in the United States, originally estimated the number of people experiencing food insecurity in the United States would swell to 50 million by the end of the year.

Prof. Qizhen Li’s research group in the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at Washington State University is seeking highly motivated candidates for a postdoctoral research associate position to work on processing and characterization of light metals and alloys.
The candidates should have a Ph.D. in experimental materials science and engineering, or closely related field. They should have a strong publication record and rich experience in materials’ mechanical behavior (fatigue, fracture, etc.), relationship between microstructure and properties, electron microscopy and research proposal writing.
