Springfield Banker Named To U Of I Board Of Trustees

By WMAY Newsroom Feb 9, 2021 1:31 PM A Springfield banker is one of three new appointees to the University of Illinois Board of Trustees. Governor JB Pritzker named Sarah Phalen, the president and CEO of INB in Springfield, to serve as a Republican member of the board. Phalen is a graduate of the U of I in Urbana, Champaign, and has an MBA from UIS. The U of I board consists of 13 members, with no more than five from any one political party. Pritzker also appointed two political independents to the university’s governing board.

DEERFIELD, IL After months of researching different COVID-19 testing options, Deerfield School District 109 Board of Education chose the SHIELD Illinois testing system Monday, according to a release. The board entered into an agreement with the University of Illinois Board of Trustees because the test was developed by scientists at the school. However, the testing agreement is contingent upon the university receiving Emergency Use Authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, which currently is reviewing the school s EUA application.
