About 10:05 p.m., the man was running in an alley in the 8300 block of South Sangamon Street, when he was shot, Chicago police said. He was found in the backyard of a residence in the 8300 block of South Peoria Street, with a gunshot wound to the chest. The man was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead. Less than an hour prior, a 31-year-old man was shot to death in Ashburn on the South Side. The man was driving about 9:20 p.m. in the 8300 block of South Keating Avenue, when someone got out of a green-colored SUV and fired shots, police said. He was struck in the face and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead.
