CEDAR RAPIDS Police have identified the man and woman who were thrown from a motorcycle Tuesday night when it struck a sedan on northbound Interstate 380 near Wilson Avenue SW.
Dylan James Armstrong, 26 who was driving and Aleece Kimberly Stackis, 22, both of Cedar Rapids, sustained serious injuries when the 2006 Honda motorcycle struck a 2018 Toyota Avalon, according to Cedar Rapids police.
Armstrong and Stackis remain hospitalized at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, police said.
Both vehicles were heading north on I-380 at about 9 p.m. Tuesday when the crash occurred, police said.
The driver of the Toyota, Randy Michael Sieren, 43, of Hiawatha, was not injured.

A preliminary investigation by the Cedar Rapids Police Department (CRPD) shows a motorcycle struck another northbound vehicle, a Toyota Avalon, at around 9 p.m. Tuesday night. Both people aboard the motorcycle were thrown from the bike, resulting in serious injuries. They were a 26-year-old man and 22-year-old woman, who are both at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Their names have not been released. Two people inside the Avalon were not injured.
At approximately 11:10 p.m. Tuesday evening a Cedar Rapids police officer was injured while directing traffic away from the previous accident on I-380. The CRPD says the squad car had both emergency and directional lights illuminated when it was struck from behind by a Chevy HHR. The driver of the HHR, 42-year-old Joseph D.
