THE WASHINGTON POST – Health experts said the coronavirus vaccines may do more than protect recipients from covid-19. Researchers say people who are vaccinated and still contract the virus may carry less of it and also shed less of it – meaning those whom they expose to it may not become as sick.
There isn’t a lot of evidence yet to support this hypothesis, but researchers say it is likely the case based largely on observations in animal studies, as well as some preliminary research in humans.
This, however, doesn’t mean that vaccinated people should stop taking precautions, such as wearing a mask.

An ongoing conflict between Twitter and the government of India is prompting renewed debate over social media and freedom of speech online.
The dispute relates to a series of agricultural reforms the Indian government introduced late last year. As One Green Planet previously reported, farmers fiercely oppose the new laws, and protests have gripped the country for months. In response, the government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has resorted to Draconian strategies to quell dissent. Protesters report police violence. Nodeep Kuar, a 25-year-old labor rights activist, says police beat and sexually assaulted her after her arrest at a protest outside Delhi, the Indian capital. The arrest of activist Disha Ravi on charges of sedition related to her Twitter activity has enraged activists.
Angrily claiming that BDS and hatred of Israel are
not antisemitism despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, various “human rights” groups such as Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International and Jewish groups such as J Street, the New Israel Fund, and American Friends of Peace Now, use opposition to IHRA as a means to consolidate institutional power, split Jews and liberals, and legitimize opposition to the definition.
Misrepresenting the IHRA definition is critical to this approach especially in higher education. At Syracuse University, a motion in the student government to adopt the IHRA definition was tabled due to allegations that it conflated antisemitism and anti-Zionism.
