Ethical questions abound these days and some Boston College undergraduates have taken their interest in grappling with them to a competitive level. Last fall, the students participated in the regional portion of the 25th annual Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl, sponsored by the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics, an international organization focused on advancing scholarship, education, and practice in both areas. The BC contingent placed fifth, thereby joining teams from 35 other American colleges and universities

“It’s been a year for everyone,” she says in the same tone. For Cole, the lead singer of the Denver indie pop band Wildermiss, it’s been a tough year without traditional live shows and with a sort of pause on the group’s growing momentum. Wildermiss formed in 2016 when Cole asked some of her musical friends to be her backing band for her senior recital at University of Colorado at Denver. On that stage, things just clicked. They began playing any show they could get, starting with a Halloween party in someone’s basement. They took weird opening gigs and Tuesday night shows where no one showed up.

A section of Spring Street that runs through El Dorado Park in East Long Beach could have its lanes reduced in an effort to slow down vehicles on a stretch of road where five people have died over the last nine years. - ADVERTISEMENT - The city is currently doing outreach on a project that could reduce the stretch of Spring Street between Studebaker Road and Coyote Creek east of the 605 Freeway overpass from six lanes of traffic to just four. Two preliminary plans show lane reductions in both directions that would make way for added infrastructure, including a protected bike lane on each side of Spring to increase safety for pedestrians and cyclists.

Gov. Jared Polis announced Pat Meyers as the new chief economic recovery officer and executive director at the Office of Economic Development and International Trade.   “As Colorado continues driving towards a bold and revitalized economy in the aftermath of this pandemic, Pat’s wealth of expertise and dedication to our state will be invaluable,” Gov. Polis said in a news release. “Early on in the pandemic, when we faced a lack of critical supplies and an absence of federal leadership, Pat played a leading role in helping Colorado secure the personal protective equipment we so desperately needed and has continued doing so over the last year. Colorado is ripe for a strong economic comeback, and I look forward to working with Pat to create good jobs.”
