Shenzhen top city in China in attracting new residents

Neighboring Hong Kong, Shenzhen in South China s Guangdong Province has become the most attractive city for new residents in the province and even in the whole country, thanks to its solid economic development, official data showed.
According to Guangdong s statistical bureau on Saturday, the population in the province as of the end of 2020 was 126 million, 21.7 million higher than in 2010 - a 20.81 percent increase in 10 years or an average yearly increase of 1.91 percent.

As customers went in and out of the stall owned by her mother, the girl continued to be focused, watching the online English lessons on the mobile phone, unperturbed by the noises around her as she confidently practiced aloud. When Du Shu saw a video of this scene, she was impressed.

Chinese official named deputy head of WTO

Chinese Vice-Minister of Commerce Zhang Xiangchen has been appointed as a deputy director-general of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), a move that government officials and experts believe is a recognition of the East Asian country’s role in the WTO and its contribution to the multilateral trading system.
They also said WTO members, in the face of rising unilateralism and protectionism, should strengthen communication to achieve consensus step-by-step to advance necessary reform of the organisation, in order to safeguard the multilateral trading system and promote the building of an open world economy.
