Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 14) The University of Santo Tomas is closer to becoming a flood-free campus, with its drainage project nearing completion.
In an interview with CNN Philippines
New Day on Monday, UST Facilities Management Office director Rev. Fr. Dexter Austria said the university s flood-control project, which was started in 2018, will likely be finished in the middle of 2021. We are hoping that this would be completed by next year, middle of next year, so we could at least experience what it is to be a flood-free campus whenever there is a typhoon or even a little rain that we could accommodate inside the campus. Austria said.

Several collegiate stars have expressed sadness over the cancellation of the UAAP Season 83 due to the threat brought by the coronavirus pandemic.
It was another heartbreaking moment for some student-athletes since the remainder of Season 82 was also scrapped eight months ago.
An academic year will just pass by without any UAAP schools competing against each other, making it the first time an entire season was put on a standstill since World War II.

Early on Thursday, the family learned that Bartolome Vicente Bacarro, the commandant of cadets who resigned over the hazing controversy, has been promoted to the rank of major general. He was among the six senior officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines whose nominations were confirmed by the Commission on Appointments on Wednesday.
