Five people were shot Monday in Chicago, including a man who was killed in a home in Austin on the West Side.
The man, 40, and another man were in the bedroom of a residence in the 700 block of North Leclaire Avenue about 8:55 p.m. Chicago police said. The pair may have been playing dice, and it was unknown if anyone else was in the room. Witnesses reported hearing loud music and then shots.
The 40-year-old man was shot in the abdomen and leg and was transported to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The other man, 34, was stabbed in the chest, hand and leg. He was found in the backyard and transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition.

Englewood man charged with killing 32-year-old claims self-defense

CHICAGO - A man is facing murder charges after stabbing another man to death Sunday in the Englewood neighborhood.
Anthony Moody, 55, was arrested after allegedly stabbing a 32-year-old man to death around 9:30 a.m. in the 5600 block of South Peoria Street.
The man was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The Cook County medical examiner s office identified the victim as Robert Webster.
Police said Moody was taken into custody minutes after the attack.
Moody said he was defending himself when he stabbed his daughter-in-law’s boyfriend to death during a domestic dispute over the weekend.
