Officials, family and friends gathered in front of the south-facing steps of the Bulloch County Courthouse at 1 p.m. Monday for the swearing-in of Daphne Jarriel Totten as the Ogeechee Judicial Circuit’s new district attorney and Catherine Sumner Findley as the county’s new solicitor-general.

So what is a SPAC? A special purpose acquisition company is a way for a company to go public without all the paperwork of a traditional IPO, or initial public offering.
In an IPO, a company announces it wants to go public, then discloses a lot of details about its business operations. After that, investors put money into the company in exchange for shares.
Prominent Gainesville attorney and philanthropist Phillip Bond Sartain, known for his intelligence, his sense of humor and an unwavering commitment to his community, died peacefully Monday morning, his family said. He was 62.
Although an attorney by trade, Sartain is perhaps best known for his involvement with local organizations and charities, especially the Georgia Mountain Food Bank and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Lanier. Phillip was an intense guy, said friend and attorney Abb Hayes. Anything he was telling you about or discussing or going to get involved with, he was all in. He was passionate about politics. He loved writing his columns. Just a guy who had a lot of interests and passions, who made a huge impact on my life.
On Dec. 31, Superior Court Judge S. Lark Ingram will step down from her bench after a 25-year tenure in the Cobb County Courthouse. Her retirement marks the end of two generations of judges in her family, who leave behind a long legacy that has shaped much of Cobbâs judicial history.Â
The name Ingram has been familiar around the Cobb County courthouse for decades. Her father, Conley Ingram, the former Superior Court judge and Georgia Supreme Court justice, was a beloved fixture of the Marietta legal community for decades until his death last year.Â
Raised in Marietta, Ingram grew up surrounded by the legal community of which her father was a significant part. Sheâs also first to say she was never expected to grow up and follow in her dadâs footsteps.
