Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed six new judges Dec.18 to the bench, including two in Northeast Florida.
Jeb Branham, of Jacksonville Beach, will serve on the 4th Circuit Court to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Circuit Judge David Gooding.

Branham has been owner and president of Jeb T. Branham law firm since 2002. He previously served as an associate with McGuireWoods.
Branham received his bachelor’s degree from Emory University and his J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1995.
Kenneth Janesk II of St. Augustine will serve on the 7th Circuit Court
Janesk has been a prosecutor in the 7th Circuit State Attorney’s Office since 2011.
Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed Jacksonville Beach and St. Augustine attorneys Friday to judicial vacancies in the adjacent Fourth and Seventh judicial circuits.
DeSantis named Jeb Branham of Jacksonville Beach to serve as a circuit judge in the Fourth Judicial Circuit, which encompasses Duval, Clay and Nassau counties. He fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge David Gooding who was based in Duval County..

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Following a machine and hand-to-eye recount, Cheri Beasley has conceded to Paul Newby in the race for North Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice.
Beasley announced her concession on Twitter Saturday morning, more than a month after Election Day.
Today, I called Justice Newby to congratulate him on winning the election for Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court,” Beasley wrote in her official statement. “I offer my very best to him and his family as he moves into that new role.”
He has previously done in-house employment work for Uber, CoreCivic, Browning-Ferris Industries and, “Mark’s robust experience in traditional labor law will add unique insight to the team,” Mark Stamelos, managing partner of the firm’s Nashville office, said in a release. “Alongside his experience, his commitment to providing superior client services also make him a valuable addition to the firm.” FordHarrison lists six attorneys in its Nashville office, some of whom also work in Memphis, Birmingham and Washington, D.C.
According to a firm biography, Floyd s work has taken him to India, South Africa and other countries where he has worked with companies faced with strikes and other worker action. He has also led human resources departments.
