MARSHALL, Tx (ETBU Athletics) – Lighting the nets for the second game in a row, the East Texas Baptist University women’s basketball team scored more than 90 points to run their winning streak to 16 games with a 97-66 win over Belhaven University. With 16-0, ETBU is now 7-0 in the American Southwest Conference and pegs NCAA Division I University of Louisville for the most victories in NCAA women’s basketball this season.
ETBU was led by Kenidi White (15 points), Bridget Upton (14 points) and Brooke Webster (12 points), who all had double digits for the Tigers. Grace Stephens led ETBU with five assists while her older sister Mallory converted all eight of her free throws. Mariah Collins and Sydney Martin posted double digits with 12 and 11 points respectively.
University Partners with ACHE in Admissions Agreement

University of the Ozarks has entered into an affiliation agreement with Arkansas Colleges of Health Education (ACHE) in Fort Smith, Ark., that will help facilitate the admissions process for U of O students into the medical college’s graduate level programs.
Though the agreement does not guarantee admission, it does accelerate the application process by guaranteeing that U of O students, who meet eligibility requirements, will be granted an admissions interview to any of the ACHE programs. Those programs include the Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine (ARCOM), the Master of Science in Biomedicine (MSB), the School of Physical Therapy (ACHE PT) and the School of Occupational Therapy (ACHE OT).
Cooper ’12 Named Director of Career Services

University of the Ozarks alumna Andrea (Muffuletto) Cooper ’12 has been named the University’s new director of career services, effective Monday, Feb. 1, 2021.
Cooper has served as the college guidance counselor at Subiaco (Ark.) Academy since 2014. She will be a part of the University’s Office of Advancement and Alumni Engagement and her office will be located in the Seay Student Center. She replaces Ruth Walton, who retired in December.
As director of career services, Cooper will provide career discernment support, professional development, job search assistance and graduate school/internship placement assistance to current Ozarks students as well as alumni. Her position will also play a vital role in establishing and maintaining effective and cooperative working relationships with students, alumni, faculty, staff and the general public and will initiate contact with local, state and national

That’s how University of the Ozarks senior Casie (Zapf) Ballard of Cabot, Ark., succinctly summarizes her new book,
“Do You Have a Minute?”
Ballard, an English and business administration major who will graduate with honors in May, wrote the self-published book over the past two years. The book is a self-reflecting journey on how she has used her Christian faith to learn and grow from various experiences and events in her young life.
“I use my Christian faith and God’s word to learn life lessons that come from these events,” Ballard said. “It is a Holy-Spirit filled book that is written to inspire and to change the lives of those that read it.”
