Cumberlands ranked in top 10 in U S as Military Spouse Friendly School

May 23, 2021 11 hrs ago University of the Cumberlands was recently designated a Military Spouse Friendly School for the 2021-2022 academic year. Cumberlands ranks No. 7 in the nation. More than 1,200 schools participated in the 2021-2022 survey, of which 194 were selected for the Military Spouse Friendly Schools List. Earning a spot on the list denotes a school’s ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence (degree advancement or transfer), and loan default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans. The Military Friendly standards provide benchmarks for institutions to focus on the betterment of their educational landscape and economic opportunity for military students and their spouses.

GRADUATIONS University of Cumberlands University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky, recently held spring commencement ceremonies with students from 40 states and territories as well as multiple countries, including Canada, Gambia, India, Jamaica, Madagascar, Serbia, Spain, Taiwan, and Ukraine, among others graduating. Local students in the Class of 2021 included Donald Varble, of Hanover, who completed a Master of Arts Education in Teacher Leader; Kelly Simmons of Bedford, Kentucky, who completed Education Specialist in Supervisor of Instruction; and Brett Hall of Carrollton, Kentucky, who completed a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Psychology McKendree University Catherine Spry, of Hanover, graduated from McKendree University with a MSN degree in nursing education. The Lebanon, Illinois, university conferred 667 degrees in 2021 — 35 doctoral, 181 master’s, 446 bachelor’s and five associate degrees — on students who completed the
