Published February 8, 2021 11:00am Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana on Monday said he is open to reconsidering his decision to terminate the agreement with the University of the Philippines (UP) banning police and military forces inside campus. Interviewed on CNN Philippines, Lorenzana said that during the meeting of UP and Department of Defense (DND) officials last Thursday, he told UP president Danilo Concepcion that he will think about withdrawing his decision. “I told Danny Concepcion I will think about it,” Lorenzana said when asked if he is considering rethinking the termination of the agreement. However, he said he will wait first for the recommendation of the panel created to discuss the DND-UP accord issue before making a decision.

Last October, the Performance Curators Initiatives (PCI), a global network of performance curators based in the Philippines, held its second international symposium entitled Conversations on Curation and Performance in the Time of Halting and Transformation. In partnership with the Japan Foundation-Manila, ASEF Culture 360, and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, the symposium was held fully online and partly streamed publicly via the PCI s YouTube Channel, and was attended by number of 40-50 participants globally; as thought-provoking presentations by speakers from different parts of the world highlighted the programme.
ILOILO CITY, Feb. 8 (PIA) - - The Regional Task Force to End Local Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC) in Western Visayas and Central Philippine University (CPU) here have forged a partnership following a dialogue held recently.
Members of the RTF-ELCAC 6 engaged top officials of the CPU in Iloilo City led by its President Dr. Teodoro Robles in a one-on-one dialogue on February 4 held at the Ground Floor, Henry Luce III Library on membership recruitment of the CPP-NPA-NDF/CTG among students.
It will be recalled that CPU was among the universities in the region included in the list of schools as communist recruitments targets. Others are University of the Philippines -Visayas, West Visayas State University, Aklan State University (ASU), all in Iloilo, and Filamer Christian University (FCU) and Capiz State University (CAPSU) in Capiz province.
