DND mourns death of MMDA chairman

Rosario Vergeire has been named as head of a group of experts tasked to study new COVID-19 variants and suggest policies to the country s coronavirus task force. In a statement, Malacañang said the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases on Tuesday created the Technical Working Group (TWG) on COVID-19 Variants upon the order of President Rodrigo Duterte. This Technical Working Group will monitor and identify the occurrence of new variants of COVID-19 in the country and will provide policy recommendations to the IATF on the appropriate response regarding these variants, the Office of the Presidential Spokesperson said.

NLEX big man Quinahan, two others ink fresh contracts

NLEX formally signed JR Quinahan, Raul Soyud and Michael Miranda to contract extensions on Wednesday. Player agent Danny Espiritu posted separate photos of Quinahan and Soyud bumping fists with Road Warriors executive Ronald Dulatre after inking on the dotted line at the NLEX office in Balintawak. NLEX continues to build new roads in 2021

These projects are the Subic Freeport Expressway (SFEX) Capacity Expansion, Candaba Viaduct Upgrade, and NLEX Connector all aimed at improving the mobility and safety of motorists. “These infrastructure works are intended to further improve traffic flow and connectivity, as well as promote road safety for hundreds of thousands of motorists using these critical arteries in Central and Northern Luzon,” said NLEX Corporation President and General Manager J. Luigi L. Bautista.

UPMin calls for justice for Dacera

UP-Min said in a statement on Tuesday evening, January 5, 2021, that it is mourning the tragic loss of its alumna, who was a cum laude graduate of Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts program in 2017. Dacera was also an active member of UPMin s Dance Ensemble, the resident dance company. Along with our entire community, we extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved Dacera family. We, the UP Mindanao community, are one with her family and friends in calling for justice, UPMin said in a statement.
