However, they are not ready in terms of learner control,” the DOST said in a Facebook post. The research team used five dimensions in assessing the level of e-learning readiness among Filipino students in higher education during the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. These include computer or internet self-efficacy, self-directed learning, learner control, motivation for learning, and online communication self-efficacy.

PUP urged to suspend classes on campuses near Taal Volcano

Muhi on July 7, the students are appealing to suspend online synchronous classes in affected branches and campuses in Batangas, Cavite, and Laguna. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) placed Taal Volcano under Alert Level 3 on July 1 following three phreatomagmatic eruptions. At least 5,000 residents in Batangas have left their homes and sought shelter in evacuation centers. “This event caused evacuation and disruption of life for many residents; several of whom are students of the University Branches and Campuses located in those three provinces mentioned,” the letter read.
