Local Ivy Tech leader to retire
Led campuses in city, Warsaw; to exit in September

Jerrilee K. Mosier, chancellor of the Ivy Tech Community College Fort Wayne and Warsaw locations, will retire in September, the school announced Friday.
Mosier, 66, joined Ivy Tech Fort Wayne in 2010 as chancellor. She beat out 35 other applicants and two other final candidates. She had served in academic leadership roles at community colleges in Washington, Oklahoma, and Kansas.
“I think reaching out to the community and to industry is really important,” Mosier said in an April 2010 Journal Gazette interview. “We need to find out what their needs are. Ivy Tech does a great job, but like all colleges, we can do better.”
Maurice O Daniel, founder of automotive group, dies

Maurice O Daniel, the founder of O Daniel Automotive Group, has died, the company announced on its Facebook page Friday.
O Daniel moved from Evansville to Fort Wayne in 1979 and started O Daniel Oldsmobile, the company s statement said. Working with his sons, they grew the operation to include eight franchises.
His local philanthropic and community work included Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana, the Greater Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce, Matthew 25 Health and Dental Clinic and the University of Saint Francis.

The University of Saint Francis (USF) encourages runners and walkers to register for the 13th annual Formula for Life 5K. The event will be held in-person on Sunday, April 18, at USF, but participants may complete a virtual 5K that weekend if they desire.
The event supports the residential, nutritional and medical needs of orphans of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Orphanage and its neighbors in Cap-Haitien, Haiti.
Options to participate include:
• A run/walk on the campus of USF on Sunday, April 18. A T-shirt is included with registration fee.
• A virtual run/walk with participants posting a photo of themselves on the Formula for Life Facebook page between Friday, April 16, and Monday, April 19, at noon. A T-shirt is included with registration fee.
