Two UConn students are being called out online for their attendance at the Jan. 6 rally at the U.S. Capitol that devolved into a deadly riot. A petition at change.org has called on the university to reprimand them for not wearing masks at a superspreader event and for one of the students’ taking a selfie with Sandy Hook denier Alex Jones. Also, and a Facebook thread is gaining a lot of commentary from the university community.
Jacksonville s Museum of Science & History has removed the interim tag from Chief Executive Officer Bruce Fafard s job title.
Fafard joined MOSH in May as chief operating officer and was named interim CEO in August when longtime CEO Maria Hane stepped down. MOSH s board of trustees Executive Committee confirmed Fafard as permanent CEO in October, but the appointment was not announced until Tuesday.
Fafard takes over in the midst of a major capital campaign for the museum. The MOSH 2.0 campaign aimed to transform the campus of the Southbank museum and tie it into the adjacent Friendship Fountain and the St. Johns River.

The Museum of Science & History announced Jan. 19 Bruce Fafard was named the organization’s permanent CEO.
According to a news release, the MOSH board of trustees confirmed Fafard’s appointment Oct. 15, more than three months before the official announcement.
Fafard became the nonprofit museum’s interim CEO on Aug. 5 after former President Maria Hane told the MOSH trustees she was stepping down. She joined MOSH in 2009 as president.
Fafard was hired by MOSH in May as the chief operating officer.
