Dr. Sunil Barthwal, is a Sr. Associate Professor at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun. He has been in academics now for over 20 years and prior to joining UPES taught Marketing and Advertising in Dubai, U.A.E., in prestigious universities and colleges affiliated to U.S. and U.K. where he held various administrative and academic positions as well. He has also been a training consultant in the Middle East and India. His research focus is Advertising, Ecosystem sustainability, Consumer Behavior and Culture, and has several publications in reputed journals. Dr. Barthwal has also been contributing for Indian National dailies like The Hindustan Times and Times of India and has published nineteen articles (in print) till date. Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Highways and Road Transports and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, said on Saturday that the Union government will soon come out with a new ethanol policy aimed at protecting the interests of sugarcane and paddy growers. Speaking after dedicating 33 National Highway projects worth Rs 10,904 crore covering 1,197 km in a virtual event here, Gadkari said that the Union government is very well aware of the plight of the sugarcane and paddy growers. Sugar and rice production are in surplus in the country and therefore the Union government intends to encourage production of ethanol from sugarcane and rice to support the farmers, he said.
