Dr. Donald Russell Lundy Jr. or “Doc”, 81, of Muncy, went to be with his Lord on April 21, 2021.
Born July 12, 1939, he was the beloved son of the late Dr. Donald R. Sr. and Emily (Worley) Lundy of Hughesville.
“Doc” was a well-known and highly respected veterinarian serving Lycoming County for 50 years. He established Twin Hills Veterinary Hospital in Muncy in 1963. Bovine medicine was a large part of his practice early on but as the rural dairy farms diminished, his small animal practice expanded.
He had a natural gift for doctoring animals which became the hallmark of his career. “Doc” didn’t require high-tech diagnostics to understand his patients and among many farmers, he was known as “the best damn cow doctor around.”

New research has pointed to a ‘leaky’ blood-brain barrier as a potential cause of schizophrenia. Jane Khomi/Getty Images
The blood-brain barrier shields the central nervous system, which comprises the brain and spinal cord, from the immune system.
In a new study, researchers have hypothesized that if this barrier is compromised, it could cause inflammation in the brain, which may, in turn, trigger schizophrenia.
To investigate this relationship, they used cells isolated from healthy individuals and from people with a rare genetic disorder that increases the risk of schizophrenia.
