POTSDAM â Board Certified Emergency Medicine Specialist Rebecca Gilson, MD, has joined St. Lawrence Healthâs medical staff, and will be practicing at Canton-Potsdam Hospital and Gouverneur Hospital.
Dr. Gilson earned her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA; and completed her Harvard-affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency training at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Boston.
âI love working in a down to earth, tight-knit community, and Iâm looking forward to providing emergency care in the North Country,â Dr. Gilson said in a press release from the hospital.
âI recently returned to New York after being gone for several years, and am so happy to be back,â she said. âI am excited to explore the outdoor activities of the area.â

Cue Health, a rapid diagnostics startup with a connected testing device platform, has closed a massive $235 million private financing round.
Investments were made by new backers Perceptive Advisors, MSD Capital and Koch Strategic Platforms, as well as by existing investors including Johnson & Johnson Innovation, Decheng Capital, CAVU Ventures, ACME Capital, and others.
WHAT IT DOES
The San Diego-based startup’s lead product is the Cue Health Monitoring System, a molecular testing device designed for use in care settings, schools, homes and other places. The system consists of a single-use testing swab, a disposable cartridge and a portable reader. It can deliver results within 20 minutes.
