PUTA seeks early payment of full salaries to employees Peshawar February 11, 2021 PESHAWAR: Demanding early payment of salaries to the employees, Peshawar University Teachers Association (PUTA) on Wednesday asked the university administration under which law full salary was not being paid for the month of January. PUTA president Dr Fazle Nasir said that the association had already sent a letter to the university administration and was waiting for the response. “We want to give enough time to the university administration before announcing a future line of action. We are concerned about the precious time of the students who have already suffered due to the long closure of the university,” he said.

Uzbek envoy stresses enhanced trade ties with Pakistan through regional connectivity Peshawar February 9, 2021 PESHAWAR: Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, Aybek Arif Usmanov has stressed the need for enhanced trade relations between the two countries through regional connectivity. “The trade of different items between the two countries could be increased manifold,” he said while speaking at a function arranged here on Monday to mark the 580th anniversary of Ali Sher Novai, the great Uzbek thinker and philosopher. The event held at the Area Study Centre, University of Peshawar, was also addressed by pro-vice-chancellor of the university Prof Dr Mohammad Abid, director of the centre Dr Shabir Ahmad and others.

PM has sought new panel for setting up Copyright Board, SHC told - Newspaper

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court was informed that the prime minister had rejected a summary for constitution of the Copyright Board with some observations and directed the ministry of commerce to nominate a fresh panel for consideration. When a two-judge bench headed by Justice Mohammad Ali Mazhar took up for hearing a petition seeking constitution of the Copyright Board, assistant attorney general Hussain Bohra submitted that in compliance with the earlier order he had discussed the matter with the ministry of commerce. He informed the bench that the earlier summary to form the Copyright Board was placed before the prime minister, but it was rejected with certain observations and the ministry was directed to nominate a fresh panel for consideration.

ANP demands probe into BRT project Peshawar February 3, 2021 PESHAWAR: Members of the provincial information committee of the Awami National Party (ANP) on Tuesday said that the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had filed a case in the Supreme Court to stop the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) from probing alleged corruption in the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project. Speaking at a news conference here, Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Samar Haroon Bilour said that though the ruling PTI had been claiming to fight corruption, but now its provincial government was reluctant to face investigation as it would expose its corruption in one of the mega projects in the provincial capital.
