Justin Clement Wins SLF 2020 Gulliver Travel Grant

Posted on Justin Clement is the winner of the 2020 Gulliver Travel Grant awarded by the Speculative Literature Foundation. The Gulliver Travel Grant, worth $1,000, is intended to assist writers of speculative fiction in research, and can be used to cover airfare, lodging, and other travel expenses. Justin Clement Clement, 23, is a Nigerian writer, who is surprised he can now call himself a writer. His fiction explores the meanings and methods of life, and the human condition, through dark fantasy and science fiction. His works have been listed for various prizes and awards, including The 2018 African Writers Award for Best Short Story, The 2019 Punocracy Prize for Satire, The 2019 Nommo Awards for Best Short Story, The 2019 Awele Creative Trust Award, and others.

Montego Upstream gives scholarship, transformer to host community -

ENERGY Montego Upstream Services Limited, an oil and gas services providing firm, has donated a 500KVA electricity distribution transformer to one of its host communities in Delta State. The firm also awarded scholarships to two indigenes of the Igbeku Community in the Sapele area of the state. The recipients, Miss Joy Idegbe and Mr. Miracle Enughure are both students in tertiary institutions within the country. Speaking during the commissioning of the 500KVA transformer at Igbeku Community, Amukpe, in Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State, Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mr. Owuze Nwuche, said that the gesture is part of the company’s numerous projects across their operational areas, to improve the standard of living among indigenes of the host communities.
