More restrictive visitor policy at Michigan Medicine hospitals as COVID-19 cases rise Christina Hall, Detroit Free Press
Michigan Medicine is the latest health system to move to a more restrictive visitor policy in its hospitals starting Friday as coronavirus cases and hospitalizations surge in the state.
The policy is similar to earlier in the COVID-19 pandemic, the health system announced Thursday night.
Michigan Medicine includes the University of Michigan Medical School and the University of Michigan Health System, which includes C.S. Mott Children s Hospital, Von Voigtlander Women s Hospital and University Hospital.
COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations have been rising, particularly among younger Michiganders who have not had access to vaccines like their older counterparts. Starting Monday, any Michigander age 16 and older will be eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine.
