Minnesota businesses join mass COVID-19 vaccination campaign

Minnesota businesses join mass COVID-19 vaccination campaign Minnesota s biggest employers are offering workers incentives to fight the pandemic.  March 13, 2021 8:00am Text size Copy shortlink: If you work at UnitedHealth Group, the company won t force you to get a COVID-19 vaccination. But the company tries hard to make it easy to get the shot. UnitedHealth gives workers paid time off to get vaccinated and more paid leave if they suffer vaccine side effects. It matches eligible employees with vaccination opportunities that it hears about from state and local health departments. Equally important, in a country where three in 10 Americans still balk at getting the shot needed to overcome a worldwide pandemic, UnitedHealth offers employees in-house education that address vaccination hesitancy.

Long-term care centers deal with vaccine hesitation

Families, long-term care centers deal with vaccine hesitation Families say the reluctance of some to receive the vaccine is taking a toll by delaying in-person visits. Author: Karla Hult Updated: 10:28 PM CST March 10, 2021 MINNEAPOLIS As the COVID vaccine rollout continues to reach more of the population, some families and long-term care facilities are urging caregivers to also receive the vaccine. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 37.5% of long-term care staff, nationwide, had received the vaccine by early February. The latest data from the Minnesota Department of Health shows that number jumps significantly within the state: a Feb. 26 MDH report shows nearly 56% had received their first vaccine dose, and 46% had received their second.
