University of Minnesota Police Department Chief Matt Clark is the target of accusations that he allegedly failed to properly protect students of color. He has been accused of basically not doing his job, and NOT providing
campus safety and wellness . One of the other negative things mentioned was that Clark allowed the Strong Arm of UMPD to silence community members. The letter continued with threats of
The Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association and Law Enforcement Labor Services, both police unions, called for an investigation into whether Meyers violated the student code of conduct. Actively planning to thwart UMPD by generating false calls for help is insulting to the overwhelming majority of the campus community that rely on public safety services, Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association Executive Director Brian Peters said in the unions joint statement. MSA leaders should be ashamed - and apologize to the campus community and victims of crime on campus. . We’re frustrated that elected student leaders would purposefully choose to stir further division to make the campus less safe.

A group of University of Minnesota students held a protest outside university President Joan Gabel s home to call for more police accountability on campus.
ST. PAUL, Minn. (FOX 9) - Student activists took their message straight to University of Minnesota President Joan Gabel’s home in St. Paul to call for more police accountability on campus. We chose her mansion because it’s harder to ignore us on her front lawn, said Andy Oien of Students for Democratic Society. If she thinks we’re being annoying now, she hasn’t seen anything yet.

Yeah, this is par for the course regarding college antics, but it’s a good reminder to all of us that these institutions are running amok, along with their student bodies. During the Vietnam War, it was fundraisers for the Viet Cong, now it’s about making cops’ lives “hell” because…justice or something.
At the University of Minnesota, that’s what one member of the student body proposed in the wake of recent officer-involved shootings that have sparked another wave of Black Lives Matter/defund the police lunacy. Apparently, the University of Minnesota police chief has not done a good job protecting students of color (via NY Post):
