Raskin to Give Keynote Address at Universities of Shady Grove Graduation Rep. Jamie Raskin will deliver the keynote address to The Universities at Shady Grove (USG) graduates at their May 7 virtual ceremony. The graduation will begin at 7 p.m. with an opening speech from Gov. Larry Hogan. Other speakers include USG Executive Director Anne Khademian and four graduating students. This year marks the 20th graduation ceremony and will honor around 1,000 students from USG and its nine partner institutions, which includes University of Maryland College Park, Salisbury and Towson University. The graduation can be streamed on USG’s YouTube and Facebook pages.

University System of Maryland to require COVID-19 vaccine for students, faculty and staff

Credit: SCIENCE PHOTO LIBRARY The University of Maryland System will now require students, faculty and staff to get a COVID-19 vaccine before returning to their respective campuses such as the University of Maryland College Park, University of Baltimore, Bowie State University and 10 other schools and educational services. The University System of Maryland’s Board of Regents voted early Friday morning on the decision. University System of Maryland Chancellor Jay Perman announced the decision in a statement Friday. The system will allow appropriate exemptions for medical or religious reasons, the statement said.
