Larry Hogan provided an update Tuesday afternoon on the state s vaccination plan and distribution efforts. Vaccine distribution has begun, we have reached a turning point, the sun is on the horizon, Hogan said. Maryland is currently at the very top of the pyramid of phases, Phase 1A, which is focused on front-line health care workers, residents and staff of long-term care facilities and first responders. Our earliest vaccinations will be focused on our front-line health care workers, the residents and staff of our nursing homes and other long-term care facilities as well as first responders and our most vulnerable populations, Hogan said. Over the course of the next week, as part of the initial allocation of the 155,000 doses, every single hospital and every region of our state will begin to receive the first COVID-19 vaccines
