The shipment of 975 vaccine doses arrived Monday morning at the system s flagship, University of Maryland Medical Center in downtown Baltimore. UMMC employees unpacked boxes of the vaccine, placing vials in specially made freezers to keep the vaccine below 80 degrees Celsius. UMMS said five of its frontline health care workers two physicians, a nurse, a respiratory therapist and an environmental service worker received COVID-19 Pfizer vaccines Monday as the system begins the process of vaccinating staff members throughout the organization.
