Curry 92.9 WTUG, Praise 93.3, and 105.1 The Block in partnership with Robinson Automotive, the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, Delta Phi Lambda Chapter, the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Eta Xi Omega Chapter, along with Lanier Automotive, Bryant Bank, and Dixie Motors in Northport, we are proud to salute, Dr. Michael L. Curry. Dr. Michael L. Curry currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Tuskegee University.  As a university professor and researcher focused on building a more sustainable future, Dr. Curry, President, founder and CEO of Eco-friendly Plastic Materials and The Color of STEM Foundation, dedicates his lifework to creating the next wave of minority innovators. There will be no virtual instruction or extracurricular activities on Tuesday.

Tuscaloosa Woman Runs Diaper Bank, Serving Families In Need In 2015, Danielle Edison founded Bottoms Up Diaper Bank to help meet her community s desperate need for family care and child support services. A single mother of three with a Master’s degree from the University of West Alabama, Edison witnessed this need first-hand when she was pregnant with her second child. Employed as a social worker at the time, she was making a couple hundred dollars over the income cutoff to receive government aid. According to the United States Census Bureau, the poverty level in Tuscaloosa County is 16.2%, and in Greene County that number nearly doubles to 31.7%.
