COVID-19 vaccines: Nursing students to administer jabs in the Cape About 267 final year nursing students from UWC will be deployed to COVID-19 vaccines sites around the Western Cape to administer jabs. Hundreds of nursing students in the Western Cape will join the province’s COVID-19 vaccine campaign as vaccinators. The Western Cape government, in conjunction with the University of Western Cape (UWC), have trained 267 final year nursing students to make a meaningful contribution to the provincial vaccine drive. Nursing students undertook online training at UWC’S IKamva learning site to skill themselves as vaccinators. The course content was developed by the Western Cape Department of Health and in line with national health department protocols.
