Rangeley Health and Wellness board of directors has announced that Leslie White, MPH, RD, LDN, CSOWM, has been named its executive director. She will assume her new role Jan. 4. Her leadership begins at a critical time for the community and in RHW’S 27-year history. White will succeed Jeanne Thorvaldsen, who is transitioning to a part-time role as RHW’s development director, according to a news release from the organization.

White has been serving as the organization’s deputy director since January. Prior to her tenure at RHW, she worked in a variety of nonprofit settings, in both direct clinical care, and as a healthcare administrator in both Maine and in Pennsylvania.
Perhaps it was holiday spirit, or maybe just looking to end a bad year on a good note.
Something sure had the Triumph Gulf Coast board in a giving mood Thursday, as its membership voted to hand out almost $18 million in new grant awards.
Four grants were provided or agreed to in principle that will help fund projects in Escambia, Santa Rosa, Bay and Walton counties. Each of these programs will bring either or both new high-paying jobs and certified workforce training, a news release from Triumph said.
Santa Rosa County
The largest actual grant award $6 million went to the Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners for infrastructure improvements at Santa Rosa Industrial Park East.

Just over a year ago, a Saudi military officer entered a building on Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida, and began shooting. He had been in the United States for about 18 months as part of a well-established and to that point, peaceful military training program. Thirty minutes later, three Americans, along with the shooter, were dead and eight were wounded.
