Rebecca Luker was a best actress Tony nominee in 1995 playing Magnolia in “Showboat,” a best actress nominee in 2000 for playing Marian in “The Music Man” opposite Craig Bierko, and a best featured actress nominee in 2007 as Winifred Banks in “Mary Poppins.”

Luker announced over Twitter in February that she was diagnosed with ALS in late 2019. I have the best medical care in the world and the greatest support, she wrote at the time. Last Dec. 17th, the Lady Flames lost a rugged battle to the host Lady Blazers, one of their only three regular season losses. On Saturday afternoon Valdosta battled back from a 12-point deficit at the beginning of the fourth period to force an overtime to win 80-76. It was the first loss of the early season for the 2-1 Lady Flames. Valdosta improved to 3-0. Both teams will break for the holidays and Lee will return to action on Saturday, Jan.
