The University of Louisiana Monroe Fifth Annual Women’s Symposium in partnership with the ULM Alumni Association has a theme of “WINGS – Women Influencing the Next Generation of Success” and also celebrates March as Women’s History Month.
The symposium’s mission is to empower, motivate, and encourage girls and women from all backgrounds and all educational and professional levels to pursue their passions and seek leadership roles in their careers.
The move to a virtual platform is to make the symposium accessible to as many people as possible.
The symposium opens with keynote speaker Louisiana Commissioner of Higher Education Kim Hunter Reed, Ph.D.

Rural, public colleges in Louisiana are dealing with the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic by freezing salaries and vacant positions, while bracing for the potentiality of more funding cuts in the new fiscal year, a national report found.
Across the country, colleges and universities have cut at least a tenth of the labor force they had before the start of the pandemic, according to an analysis of U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data by The Chronicle of Higher Education.

ULM Online BBA ranks in national top 100 by U.S. News

Listed among the top 100 online business degree programs in the country, the ULM Online Bachelor of Business Administration is ranked No. 79 by U.S. News & World Report. The 2021 edition of the Best Online Bachelor s Programs was announced Jan. 26.
ULM Online s BBA program is the only Louisiana college or university included in the category, which ranked 143 university programs.
The BBA is through the ULM College of Business and Social Sciences, which is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
