Non-profits to feed more than 1,000 families through food distribution at Cajun Field Ashley White, Lafayette Daily Advertiser © SCOTT CLAUSE/USA TODAY Network Volunteers from United Way of Acadiana, Second Harvest Food Bank and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette distribute food supplies at a contact-free, drive-thru food distribution for anyone experiencing economic hardship. Wednesday, May 27, 2020. United Way of Acadiana, Second Harvest Food Bank and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette are hosting a food distribution to help feed more than 1,000 families.  The distribution will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday at Cajun Field, 2351 W. Congress Street. It s designed to help families who have been impacted by COVID-19 or other disasters.

As the national economy has improved, the projections for Louisiana s economic recovery have become more optimistic over the past year, but a new forecast from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette says many of the state s metro areas could see job growth slow over the next few quarters.
