ULM Art for All Showcase seeking creative entries from campus community

In honor of February as Black History Month and recognizing the power of creative expression, the University of Louisiana Monroe is hosting the Art for All Showcase.
This art contest is open to current ULM students, faculty, and staff. Artists working in any medium are invited to submit one original piece of artwork inspired by the theme Diversity, Unity, and Education.
The two categories are Students, and Faculty and Staff. Awards in each category are $500 for first place, $250 for second place, and $125 for third place.

The University of Louisiana Monroe and Louisiana Delta Community College are again partnering to assist a local community agency for MLK Day of Service on Monday, Jan. 18, 2021.
We are all aware of the impact that the pandemic has had on individual s ability to feed themselves and/or their families. The Foodbank has met that need and will continue to do so throughout this holiday season. University of Louisiana Monroe alumnus Sheldon Jones, superintendent of the Richland Parish School District, has received the Louisiana Association of School Superintendents highest honor, being named the 2021 Louisiana Superintendent of the Year. The award was announced at the association s fall conference in November in Baton Rouge.

TROY, Ala. (WSFA) - The Trojans will not get to play their football season finale against University of Louisiana Monroe.
ULM has canceled Thursdayâs game due to the Warhawks not having enough players available. A statement from ULM says this is due to COVID-19 concerns within its football program.
This is the second time the game with ULM has been altered due to COVID-19 issues within the Warhawksâ program.
âWe are extremely disappointed in the news that ULM will not have enough players available to play Thursdayâs game,â Troy Athletics Director Brent Jones said in a statement. âI am very appreciative to ULM Athletics Director Scott McDonald and Sun Belt Commissioner Keith Gill for their open lines of communication in this process. Entries must be submitted by Feb. 12, 2021, and delivered to the Office of Marketing and Communications, Library 205 by 11:30am. Entries must include the name, email and phone number of the artist.
