The crash happened around 3:43 p.m. near the 9100 block of Rineyville Road.Â
According to a Kentucky State Police Post 4 news release, a preliminary investigation revealed a juvenile, 17, was operating a 2015 Dodge Challenger eastbound near Crume Road on Rineyville Road. For unknown reasons, the Dodge crossed the center line and into the path of a 2012 Honda passenger car operated by Jason Stern, 50, of Chicago, Illinois.
An unidentified passenger in Stern s vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hardin County Coroner s Office. The name will be released pending notification of next of kin, KSP said.
The unidentified teen was airlifted to Norton s Children s Hospital and Stern was transported to University of Louisville Hospital, both with non-life threatening injuries. Â
