App State’s SBTDC was a ‘first responder’ for small businesses during the pandemic
Appalachian State University’s Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC) has aided small businesses in North Carolina during the COVID-19 pandemic. BOONE, N.C. In a year largely defined by COVID-19, Appalachian State University Mountaineers rose to the many challenges presented by the global pandemic, with campus and community members working together to keep the High Country safe and supported from providing free meals to those in need through Meals for Mountaineers, to creating and implementing #ShowYourLove, a public health campaign to help slow the virus’s spread.
App State to receive new cold storage units designated for a COVID-19 vaccine
Appalachian State University, along with other University of North Carolina System institutions, will receive new cold storage units, similar to the one pictured. App State’s units will, collectively, have the capacity to store 116,200 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. Stirling Ultracold image

Where to get a COVID-19 test
When the university is in session, students can speak with a registered nurse at Student Health Service to determine if a COVID-19 test may be needed. App State offers regular COVID-19 testing for students, faculty and staff. Faculty, staff and students and their family members can be tested by AppHealthCare Monday–Friday. A list of no-cost COVID-19 testing events across North Carolina is published on the NC Department of Health and Human Services’ No-Cost
